Abstract:
The role and influence of clerics in the realization of the functions of mosque has had ups and downs at different times and in different places. One reason is the lack of an exact definition of the managerial role of different walks of people, including clerics, in mosques. This gap has caused the role of the prayer leaders in each of their functions and responsibilities to be unclear, and has led to their inability in performing their duties properly. From among the multiple functions of mosque, the researcher has selected the important cultural function and examined the managerial role of the prayer leader in the realization of this function. The findings of the study show that prayer leaders, as the main managers of mosques, have a very effective role in realizing the cultural function, both because of their management of the entire mosque and their performance that will affect all parts of the mosque, including the functions, and also because of the need for them to enter the cultural function, which will specially affect the cultural aspect. The method used in the present study in terms of nature is qualitative; in terms of purpose it is an applied research; in terms of data collection it is library-based and in terms of analysis it is analytical- descriptive research.
