Policies are effective when they are formulated based on sound principles and assumptions, and while adapting values and norms, they can lead the society from the current situation to the desired situation. The fundamental question is what are the principles of multicultural society policy-making from the perspective of Islam? Islam is the most comprehensive and complete religion among the heavenly religions, which has provided different principles for the policy-making of a multicultural society. Using a descriptive-analytical method, this study tries to explain the principles of ontology, anthropology, sociology, and theology for the policy-making of a multicultural society from the perspective of Islam. They are discussed such as the components of the unity and multiplicity of existence, diversity, levels, and relations of existence in the foundations of ontology. In the basics of anthropology, ethnic, linguistic, and gender diversity is explained and in the basics of sociology, the levels of society from the family to cultural organizations and the level of Islamic government are discussed and in the basics of theology, the role of religion in the social arena is analyzed جامعه‌ی چندفرهنگی مستعد فرصت ها و تهدیدهایی است که به خط مشی کارآمد نیاز دارد. خط مشی ها زمانی از کارآمدی برخوردارند که براساس مبانی و پیش فرض های مستحکم تدوین گردند و ضمن سازگاری باارزش ها و هنجارها بتوانند جامعه را از وضعیت موجود به وضعیت مطلوب هدایت نمایند. مسئله‌ی اساسی این است که مبانی خط مشی گذاری جامعه‌ی چندفرهنگی از منظر اسلام چگونه است؟ دین اسلام، جامع ترین و کامل ترین دین در میان ادیان آسمانی است که برای خط مشی گذاری جامعه‌ی چندفرهنگی مبانی متمایزی را ارائه داده است. بدین روی، در پژوهش حاضر تلاش شده است با استفاده از روش توصیفی- تحلیلی، مبانی هستی شناسی، انسان شناسی، جامعه شناسی و دین شناسی برای خط مشی گذاری جامعه‌ی چندفرهنگی از منظر اسلام تبیین گردد. در مبانی هستی شناسی، مؤلفه های وحدت و کثرت هستی، تنوع، مراتب و روابط هستی بحث شده است. در مبانی انسان شناسی، تنوع قومی، زبانی و جنسیتی تبیین گردیده و در مبانی جامعه شناسی، سطوح جامعه از سطح خانواده تا تشکل های فرهنگی و سطح حکومت اسلامی مورد بحث قرارگرفته و در مبانی دین شناسی، نقش دین در عرصه‌ی اجتماعی تحلیل شده است.
